Valentine’s Getaway at Cape Recife Lighthouse Villa

Cape Recife Lighthouse Villa: A Romantic Getaway Under the Stars

“You are my lighthouse
Your presence brings me safety, hope, reassurance.
Your light shines more brightly than the sun, and chases away the darkness
You guide my course
You give me direction
With you, I feel confident that I can navigate the unseen dangers
You will forever be my guiding light in life.”

If you are blessed to have a loved one with whom you wish to celebrate an unforgettable Valentine’s Day escape, then picture this: a historic lighthouse, breathtaking ocean views, and a cosy villa where you can relax and reconnect.

The Cape Recife Lighthouse Villa, based within the Cape Recife Nature reserve outside Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) offers all that and more, combining history, nature, and romance in one extraordinary experience.

Where History Meets Natural Beauty

Cape Recife Lighthouse has been a beacon of hope for sailors since 1851. Originally painted in red and white stripes, it took on its iconic black-and-white look in 1929. This landmark has seen it all, from guiding ships through treacherous waters to serving as a military lookout during World War II.

The area, known as the “Cape of the Reefs,” has a rich maritime history. Its rocky coastline caused numerous shipwrecks, with Thunderbolt Reef and Roman Rock being infamous hazards. Today, it’s a sanctuary of biodiversity, offering dramatic ocean views and a chance to immerse yourself in nature.

An oasis of calm on the outskirts of a vibrant city, this stunning destination blends history, adventure, and scenic beauty.
